DIRECTBUY is a TOTAL SCAM
Page 2

All I can say is "DO NOT JOIN", we have taken this as a lesson learned. But I want to do my part to let everybody knows that these people are not decent and don't let yourself be con like I was con.

We join with the understanding that they have told us that we will save money, but this was not true and we have documentation that you can buy cheaper outside. I'm waiting for someone to start a "CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST BESTBUY" so I can join.

We need to have these people like Directbuy off the street so they will stopo hurt other Family.

If you did not join how do you know how much you can save. I joined 8 years ago and have saved thousands beyond the membership fee. I have recommended it to all kinds of my friends and everyone has been happy with their purchases and more importantly their savings. It would appear to me the people complaining here probably are retailers raping consumers with mark up.

As for returns, I have returned several items with no problem, except one home theatre where I had to pay a small restocking fee. As far as warranties, everything has a full warranty. I ordered a leather sofa and the finish wore on a cushion within a year...it was replaced completely right away..not the cushion ..the whole sofa.

Some people just are not very knowledgeable about the DB program.

I dont care if you dont give it a chance, I am saving my money, you can stay with retail rip offs.

And, BC, if you get no satisfaction from that, write back on this thread, and we will provide you with the national contact numbers of the original chain, including that of the head of it all.

BC, RUN, don't walk to your computer and write to the BBB, the Fair Trade Commission, your state Attorney General's office, the US Attorney General's office. Then, sit down and write DB, demanding a refund of your membership based on the fact that you signed under duress. Then, have the letter notarized, make sure to list cc: all of the agencies you've written, and mail, certified return receipt to the "franchise" owner. Tell them you want out and you will not take no for an answer.

I seriously don't understand why the DirectBuy cheerleaders get so upset when someone tells about their experience. Is it really that upsetting that someone else is not saving money? Look around you. Most people don't. If I were to suddenly find the best shopping place on Earth and everyone else thought they were being ripped off, "oh well." The only reason I see why these folks toot DirectBuy's horn is to maybe make themselves feel better about a possibly bad decision? Only they know. If you save money at DirectBuy...Great! Knock yourself out! What I DON'T get is how can a company claim to provide a great service, but have to strong arm to purchase it. Any great product or service sells itself. They don't scare or pressure you into buying. Think about it. If someone pressures you, "now or never" and then takes your money with absolutely NO chance of ever getting back, does that someone have confidence in their product or service. Maybe. All I can tell you is that if I had a company as great as DB's members claim it to be, there would be a sign six feet tall saying, "100% Satisfied or your money back." If I don't meet your needs, you should get your money back. What DirectBuy does is figuratively punch in the stomach and then tell you to go screw yourself. They have your money already. They no longer need you. Hmmm. Remind anyone of a Ponzi scheme? I can already hear the name calling and poo that is going to be flicked my way. Just watch. :grin

I agree with Bob.

This company is nation wide. As far as I can tell you do not sign up in a van , in some dark alley. IT HAS TO BE LEGIT!

But the people who hate it- must not UNDERSTAND how it works. Maybe DirectBuy should start a idiot program. You know, have a contract with pop-ups, and have the potential members sign with crayons.

Because you would have to be an idiot- to not WANT to save money! You would have to be an idiot to NOT GET what DirectBuy is about, and how it works.

So Sorry-I hope the money you save by not joining, can buy you some brains.

A "BestBuy" suit?!! Maybe the person writing the complaint should first recognize who they are angry at. DirectBuy or Bestbuy. Hmm- sounds like they are so unhappy they are just mad at everything. Sorry, that your life is miserable. Funny thing...you can complain, but you're to afaid to tell your name. Way to "speak out"!!!

I've saved 100,000! So, Get the program- before you slam.

OMG Direct Buy employees are coming here trying to defend their sorry @ss business (Jim, K). If you were so reputable, you would not have to do this! I laugh every time I see the commercials on tv... HA HA HA

I have to tell you, I went to one of Direct Buys invite's to see what they were all about, and when they talked for hours about how they do not do pressure selling, blah blah blah blah, then when you have to speak to another member to either sign up or NEVER get allowed back-then what do you call that if that is not pressure selling then what is. We were smart and did not sign up and waste $4000.00 dollars. Before I even went there I did my homework by jotting down a few items, and name of the brand and model number to make sure I was comparing identical items. The items were cheaper in 2 retail stores. That besides the high pressure selling raised a red flag. I wish they would stop the commercials I turn the mutt button on everytime I hear one.--The company is pathetic and even if it's a franchise each and every store should be made to run by the same rules--lying is not a good rule to run a business by.

Ok, there are multiple things that ALL consumers must take into consideration. Now with Direct Buy, it is a franchise and the location you were a member may have screwd you over but that does not mean mine will or has. Beofre you join, you should have did your homework with regards to membership cost and what you plan on buying in the future. This is not a Costco/PriceClub membership knowing there is something in there everyday you could use. I will admit there are some, NOT a lot, but some items that are a little more in there than I could buy at a place like Wal Mart (only 1 example would be a vacuum)

As well, membership fee's vary depending on store location. I paid $2900 and I have heard others paying $5000, but they were out West. I have already made my membership fee's back in what I have purchased.

If DB was a scam, how would be be multiplying faster than bunnies right now and not be blacklisted nationally or be on the BBB list?

This comes down to buyer beware
