DirectBuy takes advantage of unknowledgable buyers
Jul 12, 2008
DirectBuy complaint by Kca124
We went to a DirectBuy openhouse and ralized very quickly it was a scam.

The first evidence was that every item they had a DirectBuy price on (in their presentation room) that we had recently purchased, we had pruchesed cheaper locally.

We wanted to look at high end windows. They had no brand names and the employees claimed they had never heard of brands such as Marvin, Weathershield, Eagle, etc.

We looked at cabinets and all they had was junk with "pretty" doors. No brand names, and again they all acted totally dumb when we mentioned WoodMode, Kraftmaid, Crystal, etc. In fact, they did not even seem to know about frame vs frameless cabinets.

We wasted our time with these clowns.

They claimed we had to join right then and there or lose the opportunity to join. We wanted prices on various items so we could compare, but they do not allow that. There is only one reason why they dont allow it- because people will then realize it is a scam.

"A Business Model" can be a scam. In Fact, all scams are actually business models - fraudulent business models.
